We have been working with clients remotely for years and our design approach allows us to create beautiful, considered lighting designs, wherever you are.
We offer remote consultations to all clients (via Zoom or Teams), meetings in our studio and on site - depending on the needs of your project. Reach out to us with your plans, and we’ll arrange to have a chat to discuss the specifics of your project.
THE FIRST STEP
EVERY MINT LIGHTING DESIGN STARTS WITH A CONSULTATION
A collaborative meeting with our experienced designer to work with you to develop your lighting plan and decide what type of light you need in your home. Depending on the size of your project, the meeting will take between one to three hours. This is the first step to set you on the right path for beautiful light at home.

Using our background and experience in commercial lighting, and with hundreds of residential projects around Australia behind us, we bring creative solutions to common household problems using science, maths + the art of light.
Our lighting consultants guide you through the lighting design process, answering all of your questions about light, providing expert advice for your home.
We offer three design approaches for developing your lighting design, comprehensive, curated and streamlined. Depending on what you want to achieve with the lighting in your home, your designer will work with you to determine which approach is best for you.
HOW WE DO IT
HOW OUR DESIGN PROCESS UNFOLDS
A lighting design concept is the first building block in creating light that makes your house a home. Once you have a concept for your lighting design, it needs to be evaluated and developed into a design that can be implemented. The first step of the evaluation process involves selecting light fittings to create the final effects. Those selections are then checked against construction constraints and your budget, evaluated for performance and value for money and located accurately based on their unique characteristics. Once your lights are selected and placed, switching is considered for lighting control and intuitive placement. The final piece of the puzzle is the selection of decorative lighting, adding the jewellery to your lighting design to complete the picture.
All of our clients receive access to our online directory of local and international lighting designers, opening your eyes to the amazing world of lighting design. It is a unique resource for selecting decorative lighting for your home. We have an discovered an astonishing number of local fabricators, makers and designers (there are more than 30 in Melbourne alone) and we also list electricians we’ve worked with, to help you find the rest of your project team.
