IRIVINE PROJECT

DRAMATIC ARCHTIECTURE WITH CHROMATIC FINISHES DESERVED MORE THAN DOWNLIGHTS EVERYWHERE.

THIS HOME HAS MORE CHANGES OF CEILING ANGLE, COLOUR AND MATERIAL SELECTION THAN ANY WE’VE SEEN BEFORE OR SINCE.

This truly unique home, originally designed by Architect Kerstin Thompson (KTA Architects Melbourne) was renovated by Transform Homes finished in 2021. Mint Lighting Design was brought into the project about halfway through the renovation rebuild, with so many unique angles, ceiling lines and room junctions, every site meeting was critical to gaining a feel for the space to enable us to design the light.

We focused on bringing light that features the architectural elements of the home, adds drama and visual intrigue at night and doesn’t dominate the space during the day. The family has the right light, in the right places at the right times. High function in the kitchen is easily transformed into soft ambient light for a relaxing meal with family and friends.

Light integrated into robes and architecture brings function and highlights the many unique angles of the interior spaces.

Outside we are grazing the façade of the home for texture and welcoming glow combined with cleverly hidden light behind the perforated walls of the carport. This home floats above the the world below hovering family life above the trees and parkland.
