Grape & Grain Craft Beer Bar
Grape & Grain started off in 2012 as a boutique craft beer and wine bottle shop, they decided to add a bar in an underutilised part of the shop, complete with craft beer on tap.
They engaged us to provide classy lighting for the wine section of the store, rejuvenating it and turning the seated bar area into a unique welcoming space for people to sit back and enjoy a cold drink.
The lighting focuses on enhancing the wine shelves (stocked with a fantastic range of uncommon local and international wines) and the bar area is gently lit, creating a lounge room feel, thoroughly enjoyed by the clientele.
The hero in this project is the "Chandelbeer" so named by owner John Tei. The bespoke luminaire design, undertaken by Mint Lighting Design collected nearly 70 individual craft beer bottles into a stacked chandelier, each individually lit with a tiny flexible LED with sparkle and general lighting provided by the strips of LED in the reclaimed timber mounting board.
The project was great fun, and has provided a point of difference for the bar. Wine sales have gone through the roof too... and lovers of craft beer flock to try the different beers on tap, which change on at least a weekly basis.
